The flight landed on time at JFK but getting through immigration took a good hour. I really don't mind security but if *you* saw literally hundreds of foreign tourists flood the hall, wouldn't you open more than a third of the available passport control stations? Oh, by the way: Homeland Security now takes prints of all ten fingers, not just the index fingers like the last time I flew.
I decided to take a walk to get rid of my flight-induced headache, and I ended up at Rockefeller Plaza, just like a gazillion other people. Since the view was supposed to be pretty good I got a ticket for the Top Of The Rock, and it was indeed spectacular! Great views all around ... but it was very, very cold. It was a cold evening anyway at a bit below 0°C but on the 70th floor rooftop it was freezing. I spent an hour up there taking photos, trying to get some shots that worked. Not easy when the only person who is allowed a tripod on the roof is the official photographer ... But I found a trick, and managed to take some shots (see the end of the post). I also took some photos for some special interest groups (well, me included of course LOL).
When I left, flakes had started to fall and on my way back to the Y it almost got snowstormy. And now I'm calling it a night! Until tomorrow, I guess.
