Efficiency, thy name is "carry-on luggage only"

Packing for a three-and-a-half-week trip with only carry-on luggage is a bit of a challenge, especially for those of us who are organisationally challenged. Just take a look at my desk at work and you know who I'm talking about. My boss has rescue dogs standing by in case I get buried under a paper avalanche.

Anyroad, this little gem of a rollaboard contains the following items: 1 fleece sweater, 1 warm cardigan, 1 turtleneck sweater, 2 long-sleeve T-shirts, 6 T-shirts, a pair of pants (trousers for you Brits), enough underwear and socks to last me a while, my big lens, some sleepwear, all the cables for all the electronics stuff, a pair of flip-flops, toiletries, something to read, and a very dear friend. Well, her proxy actually.

Looks like I'm all set to go. Since I usually forget to pack at least one thing, it'll be interesting to see what it is this time. That, of course, will become apparent the moment I touch down in New York ...
